“GENERATION GRUNGE”
Got grungeboard and don’t know what to do with it? Then this workshop is for you! Explore what makes this innovative product so versatile and fun to work with. We will incorporate an incredible amount of Ranger products including Paint Dabbers, Crackle Paint, Distress Ink, stamps, embellishments, and a variety of tools including the Texture Hammer to really show you how to work with grungeboard. Create and very “grungy” mini book filled with elements you create yourself from grungeboard. It’s a new world and a new generation – generation grunge that is…
“DISTRESS-A-PALOOZA” Finally, a workshop with nothing but distress, and I mean EVERYTHING distress! See for yourself how incredible this unique product line is. You’ll learn the basics on how Ranger’s Distress Inks, Distress Embossing Powders, and Distress Crackle Paint all work together. We’ll create a one of a kind distressed mosaic mirror showcasing the latest techniques and incorporate Tim’s idea-ology line with everything from Grungeboard and Fragments, to numerous trinktes to adorn it. Get ready to distress-a-palooza!!!
“FIRELESS RAKU & FRAGMENTS FROM CLAY” Now’s your chance to learn a few great techniques whether you’re a clay user or not! I’ve combined my 2 favorite techniques into one mega workshop. Discover the iridescent colors and textures of creating raku pottery – or is it? In the first half, you will learn the techniques used to create this incredible look of an ancient art form using oxides, Ranger’s Perfect Pearl pigment powders – and polymer clay of course. Learn the simple tricks to mold making using Mold-n-Pour and rubber stamps too. Then we’re off to achieve the look of metal fragments using polymer clay and pigments… Learn a simple basic technique using polymer clay, rubber stamps, and Perfect Pearl pigments. We will also explore pigment mixing for various metallic finishes and learn the in’s and out of the Ranger Melting Pot. Get ready to play with clay… “NOSTALGIC MEMOIRS” Create a hand-made journal to treasure your nostalgic memoirs, photos, and secret thoughts. You will discover the art of book binding with a simple stitch that will have you on your way to mastering this craft. We will explore waxing collage on canvas and paint layering using Ranger’s Adirondack Paint Dabbers for the covers, distressing with inks, and unique hardware construction. This technique can be used to create various sized books from just about anything once you learn the tricks of the trade… “SHRINK MOSAICS” Combine the luster of glazed tile mosaics with the fascination of shrink plastic… Just when you thought you knew everything about shrink plastic – guess again. Learn a great technique to create glazed mosaic “tiles” out of shrink plastic. Then explore a world of color using Ranger’s Adirondack Alcohol Inks to enhance your tiles with tones of color and stamped images from the Tim Holtz Collection. Learn some great tricks on using the Melting Pot for this unique material - you just might discover a new addiction… “THE ARTFUL HAND” Holding on to your artistic visions is a chance for your creativity to escape the understanding. In this mixed media workshop of assemblage and collage you will create a project of captivating craftsmanship. You will learn to incorporate Ranger’s Dimensional Pearls, Distress Inks, found objects, gears, gizmos, and everything idea-ology as you embark on a quest to discover your artistic muse. This project will take you on a creative journey discovering clever uses for found objects of the everyday. We all need a “hand” sometimes in the world of exploring the imaginative - and this workshop will provide you with just that…

Wow, do I wish I lived in one of the places you have been or are going on your 'designer road trip'! When will you come to the Pacific NW, Portland, Or. more specifically? I would sign up for every workshop shown above if I were able. I'm guessing the 'Distress-A-Palooza is your favorite? I love them all, the Artful Hand is very intriguing but I would love it if you could share your 'shrink mosaics' and the 'fragments from clay/raku from clay' techiniques with us here on the blog...any possibility??? I just joined the 'everything Tim' yahoo group...about 300 people joined in one day! That must be a record.
Well, have a great trip but come back safe and sound and ready to rejuvenate/create here with us.
P.S. I have a question about the 12 tags and the monthly projects...will those continue to be available here on your blog or do they go away at some point? I would love to 'save' them somehow, if anyone knows the best way to do that?
Thanks for sharing all your creative self/spirit with us here Tim.
