hey bloggers! getting everything unpacked here and happy to be home for the next week and a half! can you believe it? lots of things to still do around here though with deadlines, project plans, etc., but still home no matter what. so i wanted to share some pics from the ten seconds studio event cheryl, megan, and i did on sunday. what a great turn out - 103 sold out seats to some very excited students. thank you to those of you who attended the event, put up with the texas heat (and it was hot!), crafted your little fingers off and yes everyone left with a finished project...everyone!
the event was split into two 2 hour segments where cheryl dazzled one group of half students with her metal working skills using ten seconds molds, tools, and colorful metals to decorate the outside of this shadow box. at the same time i taught my group of the other half of students several inking, painting, grunging, and collage techniques to create 5 mini canvas pieces for the inside of the shadow box. we then switched groups and by the end of it, they assembled their "curio of creativity". i have to say it was quite the challenge to design a project to coordinate with another portion of the project taught by someone else without using any part of theirs for the finished project - make sense? anyways, it was a blast. we had a morning group of 52 students and then did it all over again for our afternoon group of 51 students so all in all we taught it 4 times in one day - whew!!!
so thank you to megan and cheryl for inviting me to do this event with you guys, thanks to mario and michele for your flawless kitting and help with this project, and thank you to everyone who attended the event - it wouldn't have been anything at all without you there to share in the fun!...t!m

Wow - The projects look great!!! Of course I'd love to go to the actual class if you ever offer it again, but how cool would a KIT be? :)

I'm crazy jealous of those lucky folks that go to take this class! I would love a piece of art like that, and I'll bet that everyone had a blast making it. Thanks for sharing the pictures- gets the creative wheels turning...

I second the kit request.
The curios are awesome. I would have liked to be a fly on the wall during the class. Heck I wanted to be in the class but TX was just too far from OH at the time.
