well bloggers here we are at the final day of the "how do you distress" challenge! i'll be totally honest in saying this has been one of my most favorite weeks on the blog because of course distress ink is my all time favorite product! i want to thank you all again for sharing your projects and posting your daily comments, sharing your favorite distress techniques, tips, and tricks. many of you have been asking me to post details on the techniques i've been talking about. you can find more info in the archives of the blog, or get step by step instructions in my book "a compendium of curiosities"...
just a reminder that since today is the last day be sure to send in your project photo (deadline is 5:00pmPST) and post your winning comment on today's post. if you've been posting all week you're probably wondering what else you can possibly share about distress ink? how about the best thing about distress inks...combining colors! the ability distress inks have over any other ink to blend, shade, and layer is truly their most unique quality, not to mention their reactive properties with water (check out those splotches from flicking on a little water - cool huh?). alright so tell me your creative concoctions, your palette of potions, you masterful mixtures of the colors of distress - this will be a fun one...t!m

I love the way you combine colors, it looks awesome!

Love to be able to blend a bunch of colors for a very unique design. Oh, and the best thing, you will never get the same results twice! Thank you TIM for all you do !

hi Tim! it was a great week! i just realized that one of my favorite techniques is with embossed grunge paper. you start by applying a light to medium color of Dabber paint, then you sand the embossed texture and you finish with
a contrasting color of distres ink! the colors that come out of that are rich and stunning. Just love it.

I love to stamp with distress ink and then emboss with distress embossing powder.I love the effect that you get. Also stamping on the craft sheet, misting with a mini mister and swooshing the card through. All great effects.

I recently purchased "a compendium of curiosities" and am very much looking forward to trying everything in it. Obviously, there is a lot I can do with distress inks and your other products that I haven't tried yet. Thomas Jefferson said, "So many books, so little time" -- I definitely believe in that but am going to have to expand it to scrapbooking products too! :)
