where did the time go today bloggers? one minute i'm enjoying morning coffee and the next thing i know it's 10:00pm and i'm in my studio working away to share this cool technique with you. as you know i love grungeboard and the many possibilities it holds, but using it for added dimension is a cool thing to do with it as well. here is a very basic tutorial to get the look of embossed canvas, but i can also imagine this technique working on a book cover or other flat surface to give it a little added dimension. hope you give this a try on your next project. back to working away on samples for the cha show. just a few more days until cha sneak peeks of new products starting on july 1st - i can't wait...t!m
(supplies: matte multi-medium, cut n' dry foam, distress ink, ink blending tool/ranger; grungeboard, word key, keyhole/idea-ology; mini canvas; dictionary paper)
step 1: adhere grungeboard shape to the front of the canvas with multi-medium with cut n' dry foam and let dry.
step 2: apply more multi-medium over entire front of canvas including over the grungeboard shape.
step 3: place canvas face down over dictionary paper.
step 4: immediately turn canvas over and press around grunge shape with your fingers to reveal the shape.
step 5: repeat with your fingertip around the edges to outline the detail of the shape.
step 6: turn canvas back over and apply more multi-medium around the edges of the canvas.
step 7: fold paper edges around canvas and wrap behind canvas to finish and let dry.
step 8: apply distress ink with ink blending tool over raised shape.
step 9: continue inking the entire canvas to highlight shape and edges of canvas.
step 10: embellish as desired with word key and keyhole.
