hey bloggers! well with the 2011 year wrapping up and the holidays behind us, i wanted to say thank you again for the fun of this year's 12 tags of christmas. it's been absolutely amazing thanks to our friends at inlinkz that thousands of tags were uploaded to the blog and shared with others. what i love the most about the 12 tags, is seeing the inspiration it provides, the starting point for many of you to try new techniques, the creative kick start many of you said you needed around the holidays, and the willingness to take part in it all. there's no doubt i have lots of tags to still check out, but along the way, i did come across a couple of artists who did some very creative and innovative interpretations of the tags and i simply have to share them today...
first up is richele christensen who has a serious love for configurations and decided to do something unique with the 12 tags. she challenged herself to use the configurations tray as her "tags" and turn an insert from the tray into her daily creation. this is so clever and i love that not only did she have the dimensional aspect of each one, but once finished, it's ready to display! check it out here on her blog along with some other creative things she's made with configurations...
next meet dede who is an artist that simply blew me away when i first heard about what she was doing with the 12 tags. i mean when i first saw a photo of her tags i thought.."no way!"... so get this, she drew each of the 12 tags with colored pencils - yes colored pencils. i mean not a single embellishment, nothing dimensional glued on, no stamps, and "gasp!" no ink! everything is done completely with colored pencils. don't believe me? check out her blog as well as her ustream and watch her create it on video - simply stunning....
